distorted pulses under swelling octave guitar
From about 30-40 minutes into our 21 Apr 2010 gig at the Plough. We open ominously with a mean rhythmic undercurrent that lasts throughout, though the character of the piece changes around it. The first few minutes of tension reduce to an entirely more serene level by Mike's swelling octave guitar, and stays that calming way for several minutes. Os's loops have caught warts and all, providing a kind of contaminated seasoning. One thing I enjoyed about this, if I could indulge in a rare self-helping of back-pattery, is the drums, demonstrating here the kind of job I say I want the electronic drums to do, which is to have their own sonic identity instead of be perfect mimics for acoustic drums.
