classic slow looped guitar wander
From about 70 minutes into our 21 Apr 2010 gig at the Plough. We settle into a terrific slow-burner. Or at least, it works out well after a little reconstruction. Almost nothing but Mike's seed guitar line survives in the opening section, I cut out the busy bass and drums that were going on at the time. I always like to record a DI signal from Mike's guitar, so I can get rid of the drums. You can tell we used a mic channel as well when Os replays the guitar loops, as there's a tiny bit of drumming bleeding into it. When the drums step in for real, followed by a bass line I chopped about to make it fit the guitar loop, we're into classic top-notch Improvizone. Slow, slightly melancholy chillout that I can listen to again and again. A good one.
