One-note sequencer with tension circling

Added 2013-02-11 21:07:36

From immediately after the interval an hour or so into our 27 Mar 2012 session at The Alleycat Bar, and I have plugged the laptop into the e-drum setup and am debuting two pieces of homemade software. One provides the basic delay on the drums, the other issues gradual variations to the phaser on the SPD-S drum pad, which you can hear in the ride cymbal and occasional squelchy sounds. Mike circles around in the air with swells, Jordan explores the single chord on offer and keeps a watchful ear on any drum movements, and Os provides the shape of this with sequences and other machined atmospherics. Just before six minutes he introduces a new sequence which sounds like it will trigger the start of a climax but in fact signals the gradual end.

Andrew Booker (electronic drums)
Michael Bearpark (guitar)
Os (modular synth/laptop)
Jordan Muscatello (bass)
